King/Coleraine Roads II
Submitted by Mary, Answered by Nancy Stewart & Craig Campbell
It took us a few weeks to get the answers but we finally got a follow-up on our last King/Coleraine Roads issue. If you recall Bolton resident Mary had
e-mailed us to as "I live in the Greenpark subdivision and have a few questions related to our roads. First, the condition of Harvest Moon from the
school to King has been in poor shape for months. Will this be fixed? Second, the railway tracks on King by our subdivision and on Coleraine by Ellwood
are also in poor shape. Will these be fixed? Third, when will the road between Harvest Moon and Coleraine have the barrier removed so we can use this
street instead of getting stuck at the lights?" I wrote back to Ward 3/4 Regional Councillor Nancy Stewart to follow up on the issues that weren't
resolved, and asked "Obviously CPR managed to fix up the King/Coleraine railway crossing so that issue is taken care of. However, the quality of Harvest
Moon is still terrible and the two exits from Harvest Moon to Coleraine are still closed off - one of them with a barrier in the middle of a subdivision.
Could you check on When the two Coleraine exits/entries will be opened, and when Harvest Moon from King past the school will be repaved/repaired?".
Nancy contacted the acting Director of Works for the Town of Caledon Craig Campbell who responded "Harvest Moon is opened to Coleraine Dr now and
Grapevine and Lismar will be closed off to Coleraine in the near future. The top course paving of Harvest Moon Dr will not take place this year as the
development of this area is not finished. The condition of the base course asphalt is not considered unusual not hazardous and if any areas do become
hazardous the Developer is required to repair the situation. These roads are not assumed by the Town of Caledon and are still under the contractual control
of the Developer, the Town will not be assuming the roads until one year after the Developer places the top course paving."
The new Harvest Moon extension is no doubt moving traffic well without having to go near construction nor the hideous circle in the middle of the road towards
Harvest Moon and King. Thanks to Nancy and Craig for their help on this matter.
